Howdy ho, Sedona camperinos, school’s out for summer, but registration is open for Sedona Parks and Recreation Summer Camps, which offers programming to hone the skills of the next generation of pickleball phenoms to the budding herpetologist in your home.
■ Pickleball Youth Camp: Session 1 is Monday to Thursday, June 8 through 11, and Session 2 is Saturday, through Tuesday, July 6 through 9. Each from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The cost is $175 per student.
The Seth Korrey Tennis Academy is hosting a youth pickleball camp which is a half-day program open to all skill levels.
“Pickleball has been, and remains, one of the fastest growing sports of any age group, so it’s a great opportunity to hang out with other campers, but it’s also an opportunity to hone some skills that have the potential to serve you for the rest of your life,” Sedona Special Events Coordinator Jason Vargo said.

■ Challenger Soccer: Session 1 is Monday, June 1, to Friday, June 5; Session 2, is Monday, June 22, to Sunday, June 26. Ages 3 to 5, $120 per student, 8 to 8:45 a.m. Ages 6 to 12, half-day, $185 per student, 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m. Ages 8 to 12, full-day, $260 per student, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All participants must have prior off-road riding experience and a properly equipped mountain bike.
“The Mountain Bike Academy has historically been one of our fastest filling camps,” Vargo said. “They do require that the campers have a competency for riding a mountain bike off road, because of the level that they teach. “I’m also excited about our second year of First Responders Camp,” Vargo said. “We’re working with the Sedona Police Department and the Sedona Fire District and our lifeguard crew to create another super immersive and fun first-responders camp.”
The camp will cover a simulation of a dispatch center, demonstrations of incidents with activities, along with tours of SPD and SFD vehicles and talks from officers and firefighters.
