His name is synonymous with some of the most popular — and controversial — shows in television history.

With classics like “All in the Family,” “Sanford and Son” and “The Jeffersons,” Norman Lear created or produced some of the most-watched shows of the 1970s and early 1980s. In fact, at one point nearly 120 million people a week were watching his shows.

Lear will be bringing stories from his 65 years in show business as the featured guest at the 2015 Sedona World Wisdom Days, set for Thursday through Monday, Jan. 15 through 19. Not only will he be discussing his career but also his recent book, “Even This I Get to Experience” at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, at the Sedona Performing Arts Center. He touched upon his book and career during a phone interview with the Sedona Red Rock News on Monday, Jan. 5.

Q: Glenn Scarpelli [Wisdom Days co-founder and co-star of Lear’s “One Day at a Time”] said he got tears in his eyes when he found out you agreed to come. Are you looking forward to seeing him and participating in the event?

“I am indeed. I love being with people, talking to them about my life and my book.”
