The 2025 grant cycle for Arizona Community Foundation of Sedona is open now until Friday, Aug. 22 at 4 p.m.

The grants range from $1,000 to $10,000 and the funding can be used by nonprofit organizations, government agencies, educational institutions and tribal groups to strengthen the organization, support projects, programs, or capital needs, cover operating and administrative costs and fund one-year or renewable proposals.

“It is a great opportunity to present your organization and its most urgent needs to over forty volunteer panelists who are active in the communities we serve,” ACF Regional Director Sheri Denny wrote in an email. ”Whether your project is fully funded, partially funded, or not at all, there is a chance your project will either be selected for funding by a collaborative funder and/or be listed in the Northern Arizona Giving Guide which is posted on ACF’s website for anyone to see. ACF offers a lot of exposure to community needs.”

For 2025, there are nine Field of Interest Funds in the Sedona Animal Welfare Fund, the Sedona Arts Fund, Tolerance Learning Center Fund, Education Fund of Sedona and the Verde Valley, Greater Sedona Fund for the Environment, general community benefit with the Boone Kincaid III Fund, Dixie A. Carlson Fund and the Nolan Family Fund, the Sedona Health Care Fund, housing and The Roof For All Fund and social welfare and justice with the Martinez Family Fund and the Glenys and Gerry Wilson Family Fund.

“We are fully staffed this year and Chelsea Buck-Leilich, Regional Philanthropic advisor, is facilitating the grant cycle,” Denny wrote. “Also, awardees will receive their checks in the mail this November instead of at the Grant Awards Celebration.”

ACF staff and its board of advisors this year have decided to recombine the ACF Grant Celebration with its Spirit of Philanthropy Awards Celebration like ACF did pre-COVID and the event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The 2025 grant cycle is expected to be highly competitive, following trends at other regional ACF offices. The total funding available will be disclosed after the second grant panel review meeting in late October. The Burton Family Foundation will continue as a funder this year and additional partners are welcome to join.

Residents can support local nonprofits by donating to the various Field of Interest funds at azfoundation.org or by contacting Denny at (928) 399-7218 or sdenny@azfoundation.org.
