Daytime lane restrictions on SR 179 will cause delays1 min read

The road work on State Route 179 is planned for the circled area.

The Arizona Department of Transportation has completed paving work on State Route 179 north of Interstate 17, but the agency announced that there will be continued daytime lane restrictions while crews now perform guardrail replacement work.

ADOT advised motorists to expect delays on SR 179 north of I-17 on weekdays beginning Monday, Sept. 27, through Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Drivers should be prepared to stop and proceed through the work zone with caution, watching for construction personnel and equipment, while the following restrictions are in place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday:

â–  SR 179 will be restricted to one lane only of alternating north- and southbound travel between mileposts 299 and 305.

â–  Work will be performed in 1-mile segments.

â–  Flaggers and a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone.

â–  The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.
