After three years of discussion, planning and numerous city meetings, the Sky Ranch Lodge could have a new look as early as this winter.
By a unanimous vote, the Sedona City Council approved a zone change for the property’s proposed expansion during its Tuesday, April 22, meeting. The zoning was changed from community facility to lodging.
The expansion calls for an increase from 7.3 acres to 11.9 acres and will include 40 new lodging units, three affordable housing units and a 7,500-square-foot meeting facility on the property, located atop Airport Mesa. In addition, there will be a new in-ground pool, wedding lawn, additional parking and landscaping. Architect Mike Bauer said if all goes as planned, construction could begin in November.
