Henrietta “Sally” Noyes, 102 a 41-year-resident of the Sedona and Cottonwood, died Sept. 6.

She was born in Minneapolis, and worked as a photographer at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and for the U.S. Army Air Corps’ Women’s Army Corps as private first class during World War II, when she met her future husband Cpl. Roger Noyes, who later became an Episcopal priest. They lived in Mexico from 1958 to 1978, then Gaborone, Botswana.

hey retired to the Village of Oak Creek in 1985 and to Cottonwood in 1998.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roger in 2015, daughter Denise Ritter and son-in-law Paul Moore.

She is survived by her children Gregory, Michael [Joan], Anne Moore, son-in-law Mark Ritter; 14 grandchildren and their spouses; 26 great-grandchildren and 2;great great grandchildren.

There will be no celebration of life per her request.
