“I am super staffed,” Sager said. “We’ve got a really great group of kids. It’s very stable. Most of my staff returned from last year. But we’ve got a great new wave of recruits. I’m in the middle of swim lesson training now so we can be ready to go, because swim lessons start on June 9.”
StarBabies & Star Tots: Saturdays beginning June 13; 9:15 a.m. Ages 6 months to 2 years. $5 per session, no advance registration — it is drop-in only.
“Another program is the Star Babies and Star Tots class, which I will actually be teaching because I just love it. It’s a swim lesson class geared for littles ages 2 and under,” Sager said.
Aqua Fitness: Tuesdays through Fridays; 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. $5 per class.
Suitable for all ages and abilities, Aqua Fitness consists of aerobic exercises performed in the shallow end of the pool, using water as resistance. Dumbbells and noodles may also be used for an additional challenge.
Floating Sound Baths: Monthly, Saturdays; 7:30 p.m. July 11 and Aug. 1. Ages 13 and older. $40 per participant. Advance registration is required.
Participants rest on floating mats while crystal singing bowls, chimes and gentle instruments fill the air, with sound waves moving through the water for a full-body meditative experience. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to check in.
“Those have been extremely well received by the community,” Sager said. “We find a local sound facilitator to come and do that. That’s also a partner program. … It’s a really cool meditative experience for people, especially with the backdrop of the Red Rocks at sunset.”
Admission fees: Children under 2, free; youth ages 2 to 17, $2; adults 18 to 54, $3; seniors 55 and older, $2. Aqua Fitness classes are $5 per person per class. StarBabies/StarTots is $5 per class and includes one adult and one child. Group swim lessons are $35 per participant per session, consisting of eight 30-minute classes. Private swim lessons are $20 per 30-minute session or $15 each for two-person private lessons.
“Posse Grounds is kind of a one-stop shop for recreation, so when you’re done playing at the park, you can come to the pool,” Sager said. “When you’re done playing at the pool, you can go to the park. We’re just kind of in the center of all the fun.”
