The Sedona Red Rock High School Theatre Program needs help to deck the halls and set the stage for its inaugural performance after a hiatus of several years.
The program will present “A Dickens Christmas Carol” at the Sedona Performing Arts Center on Thursday, Dec. 4, and Friday, Dec. 5. The program has also rebranded its student performance classes as the ROCKin’ Theatre Company.
The ROCKin’ Theatre Company is asking residents to loan its students two wooden desks to be used in the scene in the office of Ebenezer Scrooge and Bob Cratchit.
“Obviously, we have a lot of desks at school, but they all look too modern and have metal, so we’re specifically looking for wooden desks,” new theatre teacher Cae Collmar said. “We’re also looking for an older Christmas wreath to put on the outside of a door facade. Everything we’re finding just looks too new.”
Collmar is also seeking a loaner wine or pickle barrel for an alleyway scene, as well as red, green and navy blue fabric scraps for a sewing project needed by the program.
“As soon as possible, if they have the items,” Collmar said. “We could possibly pick them up if needed, and they would get them back as soon as the show wraps.”
Scorpionboosterclub. com has also started selling ROCKin’ Theatre Company merchandise with ordering and pickup information available on the website.
