Lynda Schaaf Brown, 67, of Sedona, died Sept. 29.
She held a doctorate in communications from Duquesne University and taught at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas. She did volunteer work with the Humane Society of Sedona, Sedona Public Library and SedonaKind.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; two sons, Peter and Michael; stepdaughters, Camille and Sarah; grandchildren; a great-grandson; siblings, nieces and nephews; and sweet dog Lily.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to HSS or a charity of choice in her honor.

She holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and worked in corporate communications in insurance and health care for several years, handling marketing and public relations duties. Fur-mom to two cats and three dogs, she is semi-retired.
