The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising motorists to plan for daytime lane restrictions along a 6-mile stretch of State Route 179 north of Interstate 17 on Wednesday, Nov. 17, and Thursday, Nov. 18, as crews perform lane-striping work.
Drivers should be prepared to stop and proceed through the work zone with caution, watching for construction personnel and equipment, while the following restrictions are in place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.:
â– SR 179 will be narrowed to one lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel between I-17 and the Red Rock Ranger Station [milepost 299 to 305].
â– Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.
â– The lane striping will be done on one-half-mile sections of the road at a time. This will enable portions of SR 179 to reopen as crews complete the work and move on to other sections of the roadway.
â– The speed limit is reduced to 45 mph.
