Despite double-digit home losses Monday, Dec. 15, to Valley Christian High School, many signs affirm that the Sedona Red Rock High School basketball program is heading in the right direction.

Both girls and boys teams sit squarely at .500 following 61-33 and 71-34 losses, respectively, as the pressing defense of the Division III, Section III favorite Trojans was the undoing of the Scorpions.

Both teams will also have the opportunity to get back a section win Thursday, Dec. 18, in their challenge of Glendale High School at the U.S. Airways Center in downtown Phoenix.

The SRRHS boys basketball team, which was powered above .500 early behind the clutch shooting of senior forward Tristan Decker, No. 1, will face Glendale High School at U.S. Airways Arena after the girls team takes on the Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18.

The girls will play the Cardinals at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys game at 7:15 p.m.
