Authorities found the body of a woman at 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, near a trailhead in West Sedona.

The body has been positively identified 30-year-old Amber Kirdzik, of Sedona. Her cause of death currently under investigation by the Yavapai County Medical Examiner’s Office.

According to Sedona Police Department Cmdr. Marlayne Hatler, the body was found by personnel from the SPD and Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team in a saddleback between Lizard Head and Chimney Rock.
