Sedona tour guides help out1 min read

Reports of good deeds performed during the deluge started coming into the Sedona Red Rock News last night, including a story about tour guides who staged their own operation rescue in conjunction with emergency responders at the scene.

Red Rock Western Jeep Tours cancelled all tours after the floods hit in the interestes of safety. With their schedule free, Red Rock Western Jeep Tours guides volunteered personal time and remained at the site of the flooding until after 9 p.m., transporting stranded people to their homes, the grocery store and hotel rooms. One man stranded by the flood got a ride all the way back to Cottonwood from the tour company.

Tour guides stayed on site until all necessary insurance information was gathered from flood victims and then drove people wherever they needed to go.

The Red Rock Western Jeep Tours volunteers included Daman Anderson, Dan Rice, Tom Norris, Paul Piotrowski, Jen Marris, Ron Cameron, Ken Dampier, and Stephanie Mcquire.

Susan Johnson and Greg Ruland contributed to this report.
