All highway construction resumed Monday, July 6, after the observance of the Fourth of July holiday. Arizona Department of Transportation officials ask that drivers please be aware that all posted and reduced speed limits apply and will be strictly enforced.

Bowstring Drive will be closed Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 10, to perform necessary testing and backfill of the newly installed waterline. All traffic will be detoured to Arrow Drive and back to State Route 179. Please drive carefully and follow all traffic control devices. Flaggers will be on-site during construction hours to help direct traffic through this area.

The pedestrian bridge is complete. A temporary access to the pedestrian bridge is open.

Lane shifts have occurred and construction of retaining walls adjacent to Poco Diablo has begun. Access to Poco Diablo at Doodlebug and Oak Creek Cliffs will remain open.

As of this week, the Village Enhancement project is substantially complete. All features are in such as plants, rock mulch, pedestrian lighting, rock walls and irrigation system, and the contractor and ADOT will be performing the final inspections in the upcoming weeks to start the six month landscape establishment period.

Changes to construction plans can happen frequently due to weather, equipment and personnel availability. ADOT tries to anticipate construction activities a week in advance but changes may occur. Intermittent lane closures, with short delays, may not always be known in advance.
