The evening music scene in Sedona usually kicks off at 9 p.m., often too late for many residents, and usually takes place at bars and clubs, leaving those under age 21 in the dark about where to enjoy good music.

The remedy for early risers who can’t stay awake past 10 p.m., families and those not yet at the legal drinking age but still want to go out and taste the music scene can be found at Ravenheart Coffee Co.

Sedona resident Nick Ponvert performs original music at the first open mic night at Ravenheart Coffee on Dec. 22. Michele Marcus, the event and music organizer for the popular coffeeshop, hosts the Ravenheart open mic on first and third Saturdays. The next open mic is Saturday, Feb. 16.

On first and third Saturdays of the month, Ravenheart offers the only music open mic in Sedona. The event begins at 7 p.m.

The alcohol-free venue is perfect for families, children, teens and 20-year-olds looking to drink something while listening to the vast music talent that Sedona offers.

The 7 p.m. start time also offers an early kickoff to a full night of enjoying Sedona’s late night scene.

Ravenheart Coffee Co. is located in the Old Marketplace, 1370 Hwy. 89A.
