This year?s champion of the Oakcreek Country Club Women?s Golf Association match play tournament is Lois Rosenow. Rosenow, who was runner-up last year, defeated five fellow golfers from a field of 28 to win this year?s honors. Runner-up was LeeAnn Morgan, and semifinalists were Marilyn Semones and Allene Mueller.

Notable this year was Mueller?s hole-in-one on March 15 on the 16th hole at Oakcreek Country Club during the match play tournament. This was her second hole-in-one, the first occurring on the fourth previously.

Dodgeball tourney is Saturday, May 5

Sedona Parks and Recreation is offering a double elimination dodgeball tournament on Saturday, May 5, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Posse Grounds basketball court. Each team will consist of six players and there will be a 10-team limit.

Here is a lighthearted way to corral your energy into a team sport. Players use soft foam balls thrown at their opponents to get them out.

Gather a group of six friends, give your team a name and call the Parks and Recreation office at 204-7161 to pay a $30 registration fee. Registration ends on Tuesday, May 1, so get moving and get your team set up.

Awards will be given to the top three teams.

Teenagers under the age of 18 must obtain a release of liability form from the Parks and Recreation office and have it signed prior to participation in the tournament.

For more information, call Joe Spence, recreation coordinator, at 204-7161; or Linda Weisberg, assistant recreation coordinator, at 203-5011.
