2012 is the year Sedona The Movie is being distributed. Whether you were part of the film or not, you can help spread the word to the world, and watch the final edited version in the theatre March 16.

One of the most exciting times I’ve had was the 12-hour day I spent on the set as an extra. Another was watching it at the Sedona International Film Festival last year. I had great seats with a friend at the Performing Arts Center, and not knowing if my image had ended up on the cutting room floor, I was thrilled to see myself taking up a good deal of the screen, for I don’t know how many seconds, as stars were acting behind me; one Sedona’s own little man, Trevor, being scolded for running in front of an oncoming car in uptown, which was driven by the famous Frances Fisher!

After more editing and showings at other film festivals, I’m looking forward to seeing the final cut when it hits three Arizona Harkins theatres March 16; Shea Scottsdale, Tucson, and here in Sedona!

If you haven’t seen the trailer for yourself, type in your browser, SEDONA THE MOVIE – Unleashed Into the Universe. Click the first link that comes up; it says the exact same thing, and the next page will have the video, so click the arrow to begin. You’ll see our own Trevor entertain us, then the trailer.

Spread the trailer to the world by way of emailing your friends, family, twitter, facebook and whatever you can think of, if you believe Sedona is the vacation destination people should visit at least once in their lifetime, or at least connect to through Sedona The Movie when it reaches full distribution.

The casting people asked me to bring a bunch of clothes for them to choose what I should wear, asking for neutral, subtle colors. Well, my personality has rarely gravitated to neutral or subtle, so you’ll see me wearing bright purple and white wide striping. But no stripe or print can compare to the natural colorful clothing of our red rocks, with the never-ending array and display of new visuals they offer to be discovered, each with its separate overall grandeur, faces, famous images and shapes, including the changing colors created by the sun, clouds or sprinkle of snow on top that transforms them to powdered sugar gingerbread houses. Just last week I was shown the face and body of Moses jutting out from a mountain.

Who among us hasn’t been grateful nearly every day for the natural artwork God provides us here, seen from most everywhere we are, whether driving, looking out the window from home or a job, hiking or creating artwork right on the red rocks or Oak Creek flowing through Sedona, to engaging inspired music under the vast, clear starry skies, all within our mild seasons.

I’ve spoken to residents and visitors who have traveled the world, seen the most popular lands of beauty and magic, and say colorful Sedona tops them, including our own Grand Canyon just a couple of hours from here. I have lived in many beautiful places in our united states, and must say that Sedona has everything I like, sans summers that feel like winters, winters that are mostly all grey skies provoking depression studies, hurricanes, earthquakes, concrete jungles, bugs, humidity, gangs, and a prevalent superficiality that can deplete the life force.

I’ll call Sedona a most near-perfect place on earth and I’m probably not alone. Beauty-wise I know the media have even referred to State Route 89a from Prescott Valley through the heart of Sedona up to Flagstaff, the most scenic drive in our country. I feel that Sedona is my Shangri-La, for those of you who remember that movie.

Many people globally, of course, know about Sedona, yet I love knowing that when Sedona The Movie gets distributed further, so many more will feel the reality of its soothing and powerfully enchanting magnetism that stirs their soul, motivating them to come here. As an intuitive Reader with countless clients passing through my office in Sedona, they describe feeling positively altered by being here. I know you have heard the same, and may be why you, yourself, live here. Often it takes getting away from the usual grind, rat race, or daily habits to become inspired to higher choices, lifestyle, values and standards to put in place back at home. Each one of us on this planet are a necessary piece of the puzzle, connected to and influencing others.

Is it really only the vortexes why Sedona could be an unmatched therapeutic current evoking empowering modifications in the world. Is it synchronicity that Sedona the Movie is released in 2012?

I know we welcome the world as our guests. Residents are great, openhearted folk, and take pleasure in sharing what we have. Many make a living with gifts of emotional, spiritual and physical healing, some are artistans, guides of the land or serving sweetly to us all, providing crucial services that make community.

Sedona The Movie is a Shining Star which can envelop the world in its en’light’enment. Some of you worked on the movie or were extra stars, but if you live in Sedona, you are likely a star with your heart light turned on. Broadcast as far as you can reach, for others to go on the www and type in: Sedona The Movie – Unleashed Into the Universe.

I’m not a spring chicken; however, I think of myself as a cute, plump chicky with lots of flavor and tenderness cooked into her, so even better.

Every hour on the hour the church bells ring across from my office, and if there is a wedding they chime. They mark time, but in a way, time stands still for me. When I was growing up, there was a church behind our backyard and I heard them all the time just like this. I liked the sound, as I do now.

I lived on streets with cul-de-sacs, and live on one here. There was a creek in the backyard of my second childhood home, similar to oak creek flowing behind my office, soothing to hear, flowing gently down the stream, merrily.. life is but a dream.

There is one dream in particular that I remember from long ago, and in it I was looking out from my backyard onto a vast desert area. Well look at me now, in the high desert of Arizona, feeling so at home.

Though it’s been 22 years since my mother passed on, several years ago I took the train to see my uncle, her fraternal twin brother, whom I hadn’t seen in years. To my utter surprise and delight, he looked like her identical twin and it truly seemed that my mother had returned to my life, like a dream come true. To me that was a miraculous gift and still am in awe at that. He is still thriving, so I still feel like I have a living and loving parent.

On the return train trip while sleeping, I had a vivid dream that I was sitting on my father’s lap on that very train seat. I believe that was really my dad, because ‘they’ say that when deceased loved ones come to us in our dreams, if they seem about the age 35, it’s really them.  Well he had passed at 80 and surely looked 35. That made me feel like a nurtured little girl again and the memory still does.

But I’ve got to tell you, my older brother has always looked out for me and been a sturdy advisor when needed, so his love is like a parent too, in a sense.  Though only a few years younger, I remain feeling that way, even at my flavorful, seasoned, tenderized age.

It’s funny how when we’re children we can’t wait to grow up, leave our parents and their home, to make our own decisions. It usually takes years into mature adulthood to truly appreciate our parents. Then they’re gone too soon, and the opposite of kids wanting to be free of parents, we hunger for them.

The story seems to be shades different if there were deep emotional challenges regarding one parent or both. If they’re not around or behaving badly, love and craving to have a normal relationship grows bigger and more emotional even in our early years and beyond. Re-unifications are meaningful, to say the least and we hold on tightly.

Yet I’ve done countless readings where people held on to anger at parents and said they didn’t care about them, but the reading generally tells another story and deep healings are had, even if the parents had passed on. Just like my dream, they are there.

What’s my point? Don’t miss your children’s childhood or take your parents for granted. Appreciate those who nurture you like a mothering parent, or desire your nurturing.

Why did this come to mind to write about this week? Maybe because we’re under our once-a-year full moon in Cancer. Full moons put full emotion and full light on whatever zodiac sign’s characteristics it is in, and cancer rules childhood and memories from our past, mother, nurturing, family, those who feel like family, home and more…like comfort food and old photographs. So get the family together, or those who feel like family, and have your favorite foods. Don’t limit the hugging, kissing, nurturing, and remember to take some more photos now, for memories we’ll refer to as the past, soon enough.

I just interrupted writing this blog to speak with a dear friend for two hours, who is five years older than me, and consider like an older sister, lives in another state I used to call home, whom I haven’t had a long conversation with in years. She told me about her sister and sister’s daughter who hadn’t spoken for years due to what turned out to be simple misunderstandings and assumptions. Sometimes it takes a third person to moderate as she did, so that people can really hear, instead of being so busy preparing what they will say defensively in response. Ultimately they stayed up all night reuniting in love that had only gone astray by not talking things out and LISTENING previously. Love nourishes and feeds the soul.

Then she told me that a few years ago she shed a lot of weight she had been holding onto for decades. I know she reconciled differences with several family members throughout these years, and she attributes all of the weight lifted, physically and emotionally, by listening to God. Now she has new comfort foods and promised to send me a photo.

There’s no doubt we are under a full moon focusing its light on family, the past, home and food. May you speak your peace, listen, really hear, and love. It might keep your tummy from being upset or getting bigger like a full moon. Go church bells; what a way to ring in the new year.

May Your dreams come true.

At last year’s Sedona International Film Festival I saw wonderful and amazing movies and documentaries about important themes from saving our trees to stopping the use of plastic bags and plastics. I thrilled to see Sedona the Movie, not just because it took place right where I proudly live and work every day. I loved it, and not just because I was an extra with my face looming large on the big screen. Also at our Performing Arts Center I was second row center watching Nicolas Cage talk and present his movie, Sonny. The following day I ran into him and was able to converse a bit and tell him I enjoyed it.

But then, months later I kept hearing lots of buzz about the documentary movie I AM, and was glad to know it also came to our very own Harkins theatre.  A friend called and asked if I wanted to leave my office to go see it before it left town. I walked out of the theatre absolutely aglow, determined to implore everyone I knew to see it. Alas, they responded it wasn’t in their town, or it had left the theatres, and DVDs haven’t been available at all. Netflix did allow us to pre-reserve it.

This New Year’s morning Oprah’s OWN network aired it several times on Super Soul Sunday; apparently Rosie O’Donell had told her about it. About a week prior, I gave my facebook friends the heads-up, and watched it, again, yesterday, from my DVR’s taped recording.  The announcement was made:

The DVD release is NOW! January 3rd. Walk, don’t run, as I want you to safely enjoy this remarkable life-changing documentary. Have I mentioned that it was created by world-renowned director, Tom Shadyac, known for Ace Ventura, Pet Detective; Liar Liar; The Nutty Professor and Bruce Almighty? Yes, there are times you will profoundly laugh, yet the life-altering scientifically proven information about life and human existence will forever change how you think and live. No, it’s not preachy or guilt giving. You will relish every moment, rewind scenes, and I’d be surprised if you don’t share, lend or gift give the DVD.

It will astound, instIll awe and even provide your own irrefutable experiences as you watch and listen. Yes, I did mean experiences. You will respond in ways which you cannot resist, nor deny as innate, realizing you have just been part of the documentary as your own living proof.

Yes I said respond. Unlike simply watching and listening to what is seen and heard on the small and large screens, there will be experiments that are being done, some of which will irresistibly engage you. They will be joyful, meaningful and felt physically, meant to allow you to know first-hand, rather than just take information at face value. The truth of who you are, who I AM, and how you can live your best life and impact the world, simply and easily, can bring esteem to the confused or bullied teen; empowerment and respect to the oldest elder and to those considered mentally or physically challenged.

What is mental illness? You will be taken aback when you realize that you agree with what is presented. It’s not the oft-repeated:  insanity is repeating the same behavior and expecting a different result.  I hope you let me know your initial response when you learn what it really is.

What Tom Shadyac’s life-threatening experience inspired him to research around the globe, from anthropology statistics to cutting-edge findings, changed his life in ways you and I would never expect of a handsome, famous, wealthy, in-demand Hollywood director, to make him happy, at last. Nope, it’s not volunteering to help others.

There is no better time for this documentary movie to be viewed and relished, as it can deliciously feed your life and nourish our world, just by spending some of your precious time engaging in the precious I AM.

Get excited, get your DVD, get your friends and family, get your popcorn.

It’s not woo-woo, but it is wow-wow.

Who-who is recommending this documentary movie?

Well, Tom-the Buzz-Rosie-Oprah-all who have seen it, and I AM.

Then inevitably you-you.

Here we go into a NEW YEAR. What does “new” mean?  Numerologically the letters n and e and w all resonate to the number 5, which means excitement, drama, unpredictable change, restlessness, travel, adventure, taking chances, intellect, charm, creativity, pizzazz, versatility, integrity, heart-centered love and generosity. Wisdom through experiences, and expansion beyond secure sameness.

Added together 3 fives are 15, which equal 6.  Six interprets to finding answers for the questions that changes bring, by having stepped out of hibernation with limited experience and views, to see the bigger picture in the world, gaining new and positive perceptions, which in turn bring peace, harmony, solutions and the ability to mentor others.

Numerologically 2012 will be a 5 year. Added together, 2 and 1 and 2 equals 5. Whatever sign the moon is in at the stroke of our new year colors the emotional flavor of the whole year with its characteristics. She will be in Aries, which means new beginnings, rebirth and striving to be the best. Of course every year brings newness, but for that matter, so does every season, month, change of zodiac sun sign every month, week, day, hour, minute and second.  Change is always written in the wind; we change from babies to children, to teens, young adults, adults, seniors, elders. The graduations make us more intelligent and hopefully wiser. Change is due and is in the air, in the stars, in the cards. Rather than hold on to the old ways, ride with the wind, remembering evolution is unfolding, and the time is now.

Would you like things to have always stayed the same throughout time; or do you trust the exquisite divine energy that is at the helm of our ever-changing world and consciousness? In a new millennium, plus a brand new age of Aquarius, not to mention a brand new precession occurring in 2012, which only happens about every 26,000 years, we have been undergoing preparation relatively recently. With the onset of jet lift, the space program, computers and cell phones, we have been made ready to skyrocket quickly into higher consciousness and so much more brilliant technology that will change us so fast, just yesterday will seem like the dark ages.

Think about progress in the years you have been alive; for me it was hearing my dad tell us that to heat his childhood home at night, they had bed warmers under the beds; its pan would be filled with hot coal. In my childhood, telephones had just become private but I still experienced the last of party lines at friends’ homes. Television was brand new. If you think we’ve advanced, hold on to your hat!

More importantly, don’t hold onto outdated concepts. Jewish Jesus brought new ways of thinking at the beginning of the Piscean Age a bit over 2,000 years ago, which weren’t very popular, were they? Are you going to allow new ways of thinking 2,000 years later, now, at this New Age of Aquarius, or throw stones? It’s called the evolution of consciousness. Just like a baby naturally evolves in time. As we grow over time, more and more things fill our minds that are new information. So why close your mind? Life itself evolves too. Should we think like the caveman? Even in the name of progress we experience setbacks, shocks, disappointments, and they help us gain perspective, perseverance, and inner peace by seeing the ultimate good in everything. For instance, we tear down buildings to put up better ones, right?

Think on a larger scale. There’s a reason they call us older, seasoned, mature and wiser. We get it. Because we’ve had experience. No need to forget old acquaintance; just be more forgiving, flexible, open-minded and generous of heart. We are, and everything is, evolving. Before we can become new and even more matured, we’ll see and go through changes. Have a new acquaintance with your “old” self, others around you in the world, and earth, itself, too, as it is responding to the passage into its new age! Let’s mentor with wise eyes, understanding the bigger picture.

Happy New!

Let me count the days and ways on hand this week:

Last evening began eight nights of Hanukkah.

Tonight, Wednesday, at 10:30 pm Arizona Mountain time, we have our winter solstice. That always occurs at the moment the sun goes into Capricorn (where it will stay for about 30 days).

Saturday at 11:06 am we have our once-a-year New Moon in Capricorn. It’s the time of year to put forth new efforts for growth in Capricorn affairs like business, career, reputation, authority, government, structures, traditions, and the paternal and elderly mature element...discipline, practicality, prudence, conservatism, hard work, responsibility, frugality, restraint, restriction, sobriety.

Do they sound like New Year’s resolutions?  Is it coincidence that we make resolutions every year when the sun is in Capricorn? How long do our resolutions often last? Until the sun leaves Capricorn, which is the third week in January? Maybe it’s not our fault…it could be written in the stars. “They” do say that it takes three weeks to pattern a new habit, so maybe that’s all we need if we get serious (Capricorn) and work it, work it…(Capricorn)

Saturday night is Christmas eve.

Sunday is Christmas day.

Also Sunday, Jupiter turns from retrograde to direct motion bringing forward movement again to good luck, expansion, abundance and blessings regarding Taurus themes: money, income, worth, self-esteem, romance, quality, talents, luxury though being frugal otherwise, values, the earth and other earthy sensuous Taurus characteristics.

Monday is Kwanzaa.

That’s a full house/week. And our houses will be fuller than usual with family, friends and guests.

After each solstice or equinox it’s always a good idea to get the body a massage (Taurus) to realign and be flexible to the new elements each season brings.

After holy days eating it could be a good idea to eat more restrictively and conservatively (Capricorn) so as not to let the body’s expansion expand further (Jupiter).

Here’s a prudent heads up. Every two years Mars goes retrograde. Mars rules motors, ignition, forward motion, action, aggression, passion, sensuality, enthusiasm, our physical energy level, male energy, anger, war, surgery and more. It will begin its retrograde (backward and inward) motion on January 23 (the same day as the Chinese New Year of the Dragon – hint: Chinese New Years always occur when we have our New Moon in Aquarius each year.) Mars will retrograde until mid-April!

Whoever starts an antagonistic action toward another will lose. If your car motors are acting up, get them handled way before Jan 23. If you need surgery schedule it before or after, unless it’s re-doing a surgery. If you or your intimate relationship has any sensual or anger issues that need addressing, work on them now. Otherwise they will flare up during the retro and those that are on thin ice will unravel. You may hear from, run into or revive old passionate relationships from the past.

Let’s all be wise men and women who create a responsible holy days season while seeing the value in all of the blessings we do have. Overdoing (Jupiter) the tempting food, sweets and alcohol doesn’t usually make for comfortable bodies, safe driving, or words we won’t regret. We can build new structures (Capricorn New Moon) by making mature choices.

We may even meet people that can further our career and would want to be sober for that opportunity. Let’s help the host or hostess with the dishes and share our gifts and talents with those who are having a very frugal (Capricorn and Taurus) holyday. There is no food, drug, sweet or drink that feeds the soul like bringing blessings to others.

Light the candle lights of Hanukkah for eight nights, remembering there is much more than minds believe thru logic, reason and what has been the status quo. Open to that light and we can see longer, farther, wider and wiser, with our God eyes.

On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer, on Vixen, on Comet, on Cupid, on Donner, on Blitzen. Rudolf, is your red nose just cold, or are you Blitzed?

Remember this is a time to honor and respect (Capricorn) our spiritual cultures’ diverse traditions and each other, making the Holy Spirit proud to live through us.

Happy soul-stice, Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa.

I’m thinking about getting a dog. Man’s best friend? I haven’t had a dog since I was much younger; mostly been a cat person. Does it really define a person’s personality…what type of animal you prefer? What about horses? I’m becoming more interested in horses these days. As a kid, someone very dear to me always sketched horses and only wanted horses. I only wanted to sing, and help people emotionally.

Several years ago I went to Nashville for a convention of my ordaining body, as I am an interfaith minister. One of the ministers had created a deck of cards called horse wisdom (i.e. horse sense), which gives insight and guidance. “They” say horses and pigs are the smartest animals, so I looked up horse intelligence on the internet.

“They are watching your every move in detail and deciding if you are worthy of their cooperation and trust. A far cry from many of us who give away our trust for the most naive reasons some times.”

We’ve all heard about or recognized when a dog or cat has either hissed or growled in their first impression of a person, as a signal of discomfort with their energy.

Do we listen to our own inner sense? Even if someone passes our initial sense test, do we put down our antennae or keep our awareness up and continue to listen? When someone tells you they‘re trouble, or think your gender is cruel and ignorant, don’t lie to yourself. Do you think they’re lying? Sometimes listening takes the form of feeling in our body; imbalance, sickness or apprehension.

When I was a child a man in a truck said he would take me to get candy. I got in the truck and soon after felt something was wrong. Then I remembered my parents told me not to get in a stranger’s vehicle even if they offered me candy. I told the man that I had to do something quickly but if he would please wait for me I’d be right back, because I really wanted that candy. He let me out and I ran home.

Sometimes someone seems nice and looking back we may say there weren’t any signs. Look closer and review it with your friends who are honest. See if these examples resonate with you.

In earlier days, did I care how much my date drank; that he took drugs, or how he handled anger? Yes, I did care. Did I overlook it because he was handsome and made me feel special? Perhaps if I felt great about myself already, I may not have overlooked signs that this was a relationship with drama I wouldn’t like.

I’ve had inner feelings warn me not to get involved working with someone who claimed integrity, but I did because the job with them was fun. Turned out they lied and denied even in the face of proven truth.  Similarly, I reluctantly allowed a friendship I really didn’t want, and in the light of feeling more and more uncomfortable with their controlling behaviors, when I eventually stepped back, paid a price for letting it go on too long, with unreasonable reactions and threats.

I take personal responsibility for not following my ‘gut’ in those days, and going within to see what was the allure that drew in my naiveté enough to silence my higher self sounding the warning signal of protection. I respect the learning curve it afforded me. To know better is to do better.

We’ll always be tested. To quote Shirley MacLaine’s latest book title, “I’m Over All That.” We can trust that inner sense in the face of temptations. We are wonderful, and enough. When we appreciate and love ourselves internally, we can treat ourselves and others better, instead of falling for flimsy candy-coated lures.

Who doesn’t want love from others? Do we want it at the risk of diving in before checking the temperature of the water? Do we love our self enough First, to take precautions so as not to recklessly allow damages?

I thrill that our inner sense consistently shows us the brightly lit path. Here’s one ‘for instance.’ In many years of counseling clients from all over the world, there was one in particular that stood out years ago. My inner sense simply felt a kinship with a trust built in. Though we bartered once in a while I didn’t see this person often, then years later we were drawn to contact each other at the same time, for the same reason; we were both called to move to Arizona and since have been great friends for years now here.

Can you trust your self to take good care of your heart? Will you love your self the way you want to be loved? Start there. Can others trust that you strive to be impeccable in word and deed?

I urge you, during this holy days season, to really appreciate those people in your life whom you can trust. It’s not how many friends or relationships we have; it’s the quality. I am so grateful that I have trustworthy, reliable people in my life, and that they trust me. Adding an animal friend would add more mutual love.

If you watch who’s naughty or nice without judgment, just discernment, I trust you will have happy holy days of your life.
