He continued his athletic career at Centre College (Danville, KY), earning four letters each in baseball and football, along with a degree in economics.

After college, Ben married Betty Jean Caswell and volunteered for the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He joined Corning Glass Works after his military service, with whom he held a series of progressively responsible positions, culminating in his being named North American Sales Manager (Electronics), a position he held until retirement in 1987. Ben and Betty moved to Sedona in 1994. Ben served as a docent for the Sedona Historical Society, worked with the local Meals on Wheels program, played golf often, and never failed to appreciate the great natural beauty of the Sedona area. Betty has enjoyed a long association with the Sedona Showstoppers.

Ben is survived by Betty, son Steven, daughter Susan, and granddaughter Kathryn. The Williams Family requests memorials to the Church of the Red Rocks or the Alzheimer’s Association.
