During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons, food-collection bins spring up across the state to help fill the shelves of organizations that feed the needy. By summertime, those bins have long disappeared, and the stocks of food on the organizations’ shelves are nearly depleted.
Through Friday, June 15, Wells Fargo is teaming up with local community food banks across Arizona to help refill those shelves. Donations will benefit members of the Association of Arizona Food Banks. Association members distribute 116 million pounds of food each year, enough to provide 256,000 meals every day through 1,100 sites.
In Camp Verde, Wells Fargo will collect food for the Bread of Life Missions.
In Cottonwood, Wells Fargo will collect food for the Old Town Mission.
In Sedona, Wells Fargo will collect food for the Sedona Community Food Bank.
Food collection bins will be placed at 260-plus Wells Fargo Community Banking stores throughout the state.
People who wish to donate cash can send checks to the Association of Arizona Food Banks, 2100 N. Central Ave., Suite 230, Phoenix, AZ 85004.
