A return from the jungles and midst of the Pacific Ocean from his
most recent Hawaii & Beyond Tour, J. Wail, a one man, live
electronica funk touring machine returns to his resident state of
Arizona for a free show in Sedona.
The performance kicks off at Sequel nightclub, 2545 W. Hwy. 89A, West
Sedona on Thursday, April 17, at 9 p.m.
Joining the festivities are local DJs Nate Metro and Nytus with a live
visual performance by local artist Söss.
J. Wail’s return to the mainland includes a series of dates throughout
the Southwest before continuing on an ongoing three-year tour that
seems to have no end, according to a press release.
J. Wail’s current tour began in March 2007 and his longest break from
the road since has been only two weeks. With 50,000 road miles,
countless air miles, and hundreds of shows since the start of the Tour,
he has performed on all corners of the continent including Alaska,
Hawaii and Mexico.
J. Wail is on a quest to make people dance, the release stated.
His enthusiasm and desire to share and spread his music has earned him
a reputation as one of the hardest working artists in the industry, the
release stated.
Stretching into the DJ-based dance sound with the approach of a live
band he creates his “avant garde club funk rock” through innovative
techniques using live guitar, bass, vocals, synthesizers and live
electronics.
The way his music is performed and his strong passion in live
performance has drawn eyes and ears of a wide array of listeners, the
release stated. His ability to experiment and improvise nightly has led
to several appearances and collaborations with some prominent musicians.
On-stage guests/jams have included national artists Michael Travis and
Jason Hahn, of String Cheese Incident, Dean Ween, of Ween, Brock
Butler, of Perpetual Groove, Ekoostik Hookah, Tom Constanten and
members of the Brazilian Girls.
J Wail has performed supporting slots for national artists such as
Bassnectar, Particle, Perpetual Groove, Toubab Krewe, and DJ Le Spam
& the Spam Allstars.
J Wail’s styles and techniques infuse the audience with a taste of
something completely new, fresh, and stimulating, according to the
release.
