Join the Sedona Gallery Association for the First Friday: Evening in the Galleries on July 6, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The SGA hosts special openings and events on the first Friday of each month. As an added convenience for Sedona visitors and locals, the Sedona Trolley offers free transportation during the evening with a continuous loop between participating SGA galleries.
Some of the SGA’s First Friday highlights are:
n El Prado Gallery features oil painter Linda Demetre. She captures intimacy on canvas like few other artists. Subtle gestures reveal hidden thoughts and the tilt of the head can divulge veiled emotions that only an artist’s eye might recognize and record in oils and canvas. View Demetre’s work at the opening reception and discover her exploration of the human form.
n Erickson Studio Gallery presents the oil paintings of Marilyn Erickson, along with giclees and prints of her work. Ken Erickson, lyric baritone, will stroll around the gallery singing selections from well-known Broadway musicals. It promises to be an enchanting evening of art and music.
n Lanning Gallery celebrates the rich, neo-primitive paintings of artist Slava Tch in the “Rolling Hills” show. Tch uses the ancient and challenging medium of encaustic to create luminous colors with which he portrays rolling hills, trees and rivers that take on the mythical aspects of an ideal world.
