With spring in the air, the Sedona Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center in Uptown begins its transition to Sinagua Plaza. The first phase of this transition took place Wednesday, March 21, with the move of the call center to the Sedona chamber administrative building in West Sedona.
This part of the move allowed the call center and part-time staff to settle in the new location so that they can provide visitors with uninterrupted service while the visitor center relocates to the temporary space.
The visitor information phone numbers, 282-7722 and 1-800-288-7336, will remain the same.
After the completion of the remodel, the call center will remain at the administrative building so that the new and improved visitor center will have additional space to better accommodate more than 300,000 visitors assisted there each year.
The next phase of this transition takes place Tuesday through Thursday, March 27 through 29, as the visitor center will close the 331 Forest Road location and move to the temporary location at 320 N. Hwy. 89A, Suites 3 and 4, in Sinagua Plaza.
Currently, the remodel is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 1, but is subject to change after the review of the responses to the request for proposal, which has been sent out to chamber members in regard to the remodeling contract.
The remodel is estimated to be completed in six months time and will showcase state-of-the-art services for visitors, including our continued excellent volunteer services, interactive kiosks and the anticipated addition of an ATM on location.
Other features of this renovation include updating the public restrooms, refinishing the exterior of the building and adding an outdoor plaza with seating.
The newly remodeled building will be named after and dedicated to Dr. Ray Elliot for all of his invaluable contributions to and support of the chamber.
We appreciate and thank our generous members, volunteers, staff and the community of Sedona for their support during this time of transition. We are excited and looking forward to having a Visitor Center that will enhance the visitor experience and set a standard for hospitality in Sedona.
