The Sedona City Council will consider plan amendment proposals from ILX and Sathcupa at a work session on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 5:30 p.m.

No action will be taken at the meeting.

The council got its first glimpse at ILX’s proposal at a work session on Oct. 25.

ILX is requesting that their property’s designation on the Community Plan Future Land Use Map be changed from “public/semi-public” and “single-family medium density” to “planned area.”

The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of this proposal to council on Sept. 19.

Sathcupa was granted an extension at the Sept. 19 meeting to revise its proposal.

The new proposal — including a plan by Fitch Industries — was recommended for denial by the Planning and Zoning Commis-sion on Monday, Nov. 6.

Fitch Industries is currently in escrow with Sathcupa for the former Cultural Park property.

The former proposal asked that the Community Plan designation of the land be changed from “public/semi-public” to “single-family very low density residential.”

Fitch Industries was not in the picture at this time.

Sathcupa, in conjunction with Fitch Industries, now wants the designation of approximately half the parcel changed to “planned area.” The second half of the  land isn’t included in the current proposal.

The work session will give council members the opportunity to comment and ask questions of both city staff and the applicants regarding the proposals.

Prior to Wednesday’s meeting, the council will take a tour of the properties up for consideration at 3:30 p.m.

Public comment will not be accepted during the site visits, but will be allowed at the work session.

The council will make its final decision later at a regular meeting.

If the amendments are approved, the applicants will then apply for rezoning.
