Shortly after 6 p.m. on Monday, April 3, inclement weather — coupled with high winds — took hold of Northern Arizona, leaving many in the dark.
According to APS spokeswoman Anna Stewart, at the height of the storm, 13,000 customers in the Verde Valley were without power. As of 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, there were still about 1,800 customers without power, including 660 in Sedona. Restoration for the remaining customers was expected by 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The National Weather Service reported that during the time of the outage, gusts hit as high as 55 mph at the Sedona Airport and in Camp Verde while Cottonwood had a gust recorded at 52 mph. BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
