Yavapai County Sheriff's Office detectives have confirmed they located the missing mother and her son at a home in the 500 block of N. Broadway, Clarkdale.
The stolen Dodge Charger was found floating in the Verde River a few miles from the Broadway home, according to YCSO.
The car had been rented by the homeowner at the Village Drive location. Evidence technicians are on scene now and expect to recover the vehicle soon.
YCSO detectives have arrested a male suspect residing at the Broadway home for his involvement in the car theft.
It does appear this suspect has some involvement with the mother allegedly kidnapped this morning and was present during the altercation on Village Drive in Cottonwood, according to YCSO.
This part of the investigation remains active as there may have been an altercation between the suspect and female before the Dodge Charger was stolen, according to YCSO.
Yavapai County Sheriff's Office is on scene in the 2653 and 2657 Village Drive, Cottonwood, regarding an apparent kidnapping incident that occurred around 6 a.m. YCSO detectives sought help from the public in locating the victims, suspects and two vehicles involved.
YCSO detectives announced at 1:15 that "Samantha" and her son, who were apparently kidnapped this morning, have been located in Clarkdale in good condition.
Detectives are interviewing the pair to determine the circumstances regarding the incident this morning. Detectives are still looking for both suspect vehicles. The suspects' identities are pending as detectives attempt to sort out the circumstances.
Please call 911 to report any information to help investigators locate the suspects.
"I believe we had three separate calls to dispatch," said Lt. Tom Boelts, of the Yavapai Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Bureau, adding that one caller knew the female victim.
Asked if the victims had been inside the 2600 block Village Drive buildings in question, Boelts answered, "We believe they were outside."BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
