“Violet,” oil on linen, by Patricia A Griffin, oil on linen will show at Goldenstein Gallery, which is presenting Impressionist-Expressionist as part of its dynamic two-month series celebrating different art modalities.

Sedona’s finest art galleries invite the public to enjoy a special evening of openings, special guests, artist receptions and celebrations at their monthly 1st Friday Gallery Tour on Friday, April 1, from 5 to 8 p.m.

All guests are welcome to attend free of charge and ride the Sedona Trolley, which does continuous loops to the Gallery Row and Uptown locations. West Sedona locations, Goldenstein Gallery and Greg Lawson’s Passion for Place, are not served by the Trolley.

Highlights of this month’s events include:

  • Andrea Smith Gallery Sedona features artist Patricia Barthe, a native New Yorker and poet, was awestruck by the myriad colors and impressions the Sedona sky and landscape had to offer. Her original oil paintings express emotion in its purest color and boldest form.
  • ALT Gallery features the finest secondary market art in Northern Arizona. Stop in to see the newest arrivals. Showcasing original paintings, bronze, art glass, rare books and now vinyl LPs.
  • Goldenstein Gallery presents Impressionist-Expressionist as part of its dynamic two-month series celebrating different art modalities. This month Adele Seronde, Sherab Khandro, Patricia Griffin, Karyl Bennett, Marilyn Bos and Kevin McCarthy are among the featured artists.
  • Greg Lawson’s Passion for Place gallery in West Sedona lauds the arrival of spring and the renewal of life with Roots of Contentment, a collection of botanical-themed images with a spotlight on champion and notable trees of the world.
  • Honshin Fine Art presents The Treasures of Brother Raven which explores the symbolism of ravens in multiple cultures as expressed through art. Join them for special treats and their celebrated Poetry on the Porch event at 7:30 p.m.
  • James Ratliff Gallery welcomes artist Lelija Roy who introduces her glorious mixed media landscape paintings with Transitions: Light into Shadow. Roy offers landscapes which are observed, remembered and imagined. There will be an artists presentation at 6 p.m.
  • Lanning Gallery opens Introducing Tamar Kander Paintings. Please see Page 16 for more on Kander’s exhibit.
  • Mountain Trails Gallery is proud to present Cowboys, Canyons & Beyond featuring paintings by Marcia Molnar and George Molnar of American Indian children, cowboys and cowgirls, as well as ranch life, the Grand Canyon and beyond.
  • Impressionistic wildlife sculptor Joshua Tobey is back at Rowe Fine Art Gallery. Come see his latest sculptures featuring bears, rabbits and mountain lion cubs, and find out about his most recent awards. Tobey will also be in the gallery Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Sedona Arts Center presents Splash of Colors showcasing the dynamic works of Gretchen Lopez Michael Chesley Johnson and Dawn Sutherland Additionally the fine crafted dwellings of P. Ronald Schneider and jewelry by Judy Classen will be featured. Splash of Color will be on display from April 1 through Tuesday, May 3.
  • Turquoise Tortoise Gallery opens Tradition Re-Created: The Art of Russ Kruse and John MacLeod.
