The Sedona Police Department warns the community of a possible prowler.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sedona police at 282-3100.On Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 at approximately 6 p.m, outside a church on Arroyo Piñon Drive in West Sedona, two young children were approached by a man who said, “Do you want to see my duck? It’s in my car.” The children refused to go with him, and the man drove away.

The man is white with white hair and driving a white passenger vehicle, according to SPD.

This has been the only report of this type of suspicious activity. The investigation into this incident is continuing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 282-3100.

    This is very disturbing. The headlines should be an "Attempted Child Luring"! Not a prowler. This is a serious incident and the community should be handled properly.

    I agree w/Robin. Headline is very misleading. What happened to real journalism? Maybe it's time for RRN to re-assess their audience & mission. Is RRN reporting news that fits tourists or residents? If tourism is their ultimate goal (as seems obvious) - drop the newspaper biz & create a glossy periodical or mag. Intellectual & reporting Integrity is important.

    This incident obviously involved a child predator or an attempt at a perverted act. Even what is reported that was said by the "prowler" was undoubtedly misunderstood by the children. A lot more questions should be asked and all of us need to be aware of someone approaching children in this way.
