Bike skills park forms task force1 min read

The idea of a bike skills park in Sedona has been batted around for quite some time. But now that it’s becoming a reality, steps are in place to ensure the project stays on course.

One of those ways is through the creation of a bike skills task force, which was recently formed. It’s made up of bike shops owners, residents, Parks and Recreation Manager Rachel Murdoch and Bicycle Coordinator Doug Copp.

The Sedona City Council voted 5-1 on Oct. 5 to move forward with the project, which will be located at Posse Grounds Park, adjacent to the skate park and future Barbara Antonsen Memorial Park. Vice Mayor Mark DiNunzio said he was in favor of the park but was the one dissenting vote. He wanted to take things a step further and have the city pay for the design.
