The two big rivals of Sedona faced off Tuesday night, Sept. 25, in the world of middle school volleyball.
The West Sedona School Wildcats attempted to shatter the Big Park Community School Coyotes’ undefeated record but Big Park came out on top winning in two sets, 2-0.
“We have four incredible hitters that are hitting 78 percent, which is just huge for this age,” Big Park Head Coach Shelley Woellmer said. “They are doing very well, and they are a great group of kids.”
Each team started the game with their own team cheers that got themselves and the crowd pumped up.
When the girls hit the court to start the game, it was evident that even though they were small, they were powerful on both sides of the net.
Within the first few minutes of the first set, Big Park was up 5-0 with the help of Maddy Neiman’s jump serves. Courtney Howard’s powerful serve got her West Sedona team to within two points.
