Winslow High School won the invitational in Gilbert with 108 points while Northland Preparatory was second with 112 points. Notre Dame Preparatory Academy wrapped up the top three with 136 points.

Sedona senior Brandon Snickers was the top finisher for the Scorpions, taking 17th overall with a 17:56.50 time. Snickers was off the pace by just over a minute. Higley High School product Brennen Barfuss took first overall in Gilbert with a 16:49.20 time.

The Scorpions will train hard this week in an effort to get ready for the Jack Boehle Memorial Invitational, which is set to take place at Coconino High School in Flagstaff on Saturday, Oct. 8.

Sedona has three meets to go including Saturday’s event before the Section II [Division IV] Cham-pionships take place at Buffalo Park in Flagstaff on Friday, Oct. 28. The Division IV State Championships are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix.
