Race Across America makes its way through Sedona
Written by Brian Bergner Jr.

Local motorists may have noticed an abnormal number of bikers on Sedona’s main drag in the past week, jamming up traffic more than usual these days, especially with the State Route 89A construction.

James Weinstein of Team 4 Mil comes racing down State Route 89A on Sunday, June 17, just before making the transition and handing the reins over to teammate Chad Connor. The team started in Oceanside, Calif., and will end the nearly 3,000-mile trek Thursday, June 21, at around 11 p.m. in Annapolis, Md.Not to worry, however, as the 30th annual Race Across America bikers should be all cleared out by the time this prints so everyone can go back to driving 20 mph instead of 10 mph.

Held since 1982, Race Across America cyclists come from around the world to see which team will be the fastest to pedal nearly 3,000 miles coast-to-coast across the U.S.
