Levondovska retired in second round

The Sedona Red Rock High School girls tennis team traveled south to Glendale this past weekend to participate in the Division III state singles and doubles tournament.

Junior Kira Levondovska, playing an opponent April 17, won her first-round state singles match April 20 easily, 6-1, 6-0, but was retired before the second set of round two due to a minor case of heat exhaustion.Junior Kira Levondovska, who did well enough this spring to earn a spot in the state singles tournament, began play April 20 at the Paseo Racquet Center in Glendale.

Levondovska defeated Briauna Ramirez from Bourgade Catholic High School, 6-1, 6-0, to advance to the next round later that afternoon.
