Free golf programs begin in June

Gary Pearce, the head golf professional at a golf course in the Village of Oak Creek, is leading the charge to bring more people to the game of golf, and he’s doing it for free.

Gary Pearce, left, works with Nicole Lehnertz on her back swing on Wednesday, May 30. Pearce, who is head golf professional, is starting three separate programs for different age groups and abilities to get people more into the game of golf. All three programs are free of charge.That’s right — for free.

Complaints of how expensive golf is or thoughts of it being too tough to get a child involved in the sport if a parent can’t afford to play it themselves are over — at least for now.
