Burns’ 3-run bomb not enough

The Scorpions fought hard April 25 against visiting rival Camp Verde High School, but in the end they came up short, losing 9-7.

Despite the Scorpions’ efforts, Camp Verde High School went on to win, 9-7.Sedona Red Rock High School took a 3-0 lead over the Cowboys after a monster three-run home run by senior third baseman Corey Burns in the bottom of the third inning.

The trouble for Sedona came in the top of the fourth when it surrendered eight unanswered runs to Camp Verde to go down 8-3 and eventually lose, 9-7.
