Both Sedona teams kept out of playoffs by losses

The Sedona Red Rock High School Scorpions won’t see post-season action on the court this year, but the foundation of an elite basketball program has been laid.

The girls, who were state playoff contenders all season long, were knocked out of the bracket with an 11-13 record after losing to cross-valley rivals, Mingus Union and Camp Verde high schools. The boys and girls teams both ended the 2012-2013 regular season with a couple of heartbreaking losses to cross-valley rivals. The boys ended their season with a 7-19 record after losing to the Marauders 64-34 and the Camp Verde Cowboys 70-59. Nevertheless, the seniors shined.

In the last game of the season, a home game against the Camp Verde Cowboys, Tiana Hatler had 27 points and many of those shots were assisted by twin sister Sierra Hatler.
