A new trend will begin during this 2008-09 school year which will see the Sedona Red Rock High boys and girls soccer team now play in the winter instead of the more traditional fall season.

The soccer season starts Monday, Nov. 3.

The move was…

Parents send their kids off to summer camps for many reasons we don’t even need to mention. But when the parents of two 13-year-old friends, Katie Furlong and Brenna Barker, put them on a plane destined for Colorado Springs, their lives were about to change.

OK, maybe not their lives because they are only 13, but certainly their volleyball playing careers, since the pair went off to Colorado Springs to attend the USA Higher Performance Volleyball Camp on July 12 through July 16.

“I had so much fun and I can’t wait to go back next year,” Barker said with a big smile on her face.…

Kirsch, a third baseman on the team, was one of the founding players on the Wildcats inaugural club baseball team.

“For us to get to the World Series in our first season was incredible,” Kirsch said.…

The more often they swim, the better and better they get.

That’s what Sedona Swim team head coach Erin Estes said about her team after they dominated another meet, this time a dual competition against Kingman on Saturday, June 28.

“This meet worked in favor of our kids because we had many in the pool besides just our top swimmers. Having everyone puts us way over the top,” Estes said.

Sedona took the victory by scoring 2,916 points compared to Kingman’s 1,728 points.…
