If there was ever an opportunity to play a team that wasn’t strong and the coach could rest his starters, then the season finale for the Sedona Red Rock High boys soccer team was a perfect fit as they played Arizona Lutheran Academy on Thursday,…

For the first time in school history the Sedona Red Rock High girls basketball team claimed the 3A-West region title, clinching it by defeating River Valley High on Thursday, Feb. 12, by the final score of 53-44.…

Despite a strong regular season which saw the Sedona Red Rock High girls basketball team finish 19-7 overall and claim a 3A-West region championship, going 11-1, the No. 9 Scorpions still found themselves traveling to No. 8 Window Rock High in the first round of the 3A state tournament on Friday, Feb. 20.

The four-hour bus ride to the Arizona-New Mexico border might have been the difference in the 54-42 loss, bouncing Sedona from the state playoffs and ending its season.…

Winning five of their last seven games to end the regular season, the Sedona Red Rock High boys basketball team clinched a 3A state playoff berth by taking third place in the 3A-West, something this group wasn’t sure was going to happen just a few weeks ago.

“We were struggling for a while there, but we picked up the pace and the boys deserve to go to state,” second-year Sedona head coach Bob Murphy said.…

With the first snow of winter falling and actually sticking in the Sedona area this past week, the true meaning of “winter” finally holds strong, and with the soccer season wrapping up, it’s kind of ironic the white rain comes this late.

Fuss, a 31-year-old father of two, is a two-time Sedona Marathon winner. He won in 2007 and used a 3:02:45 time to win the race in 2008, nearly three minutes ahead of anyone else.

This year however, Fuss will only run the half marathon.…

Coyotes hunt down victory over Oak Creek, 32-19

The Big Park Middle School boys basketball team has certainly struggled this season on the hardwood, but Coyote head coach Dan Wolf and his boys never quit as they earned a nice victory over Oak Creek Middle School.…

Scorpions trounce River Valley, 69-38

The Sedona Red Rock High girls basketball team showed just how good they could be when things are clicking Friday, Jan. 9, when they destroyed lowly River Valley High in front of a good home crowd, 69-38.

Sedona was without their head coach, John Cunningham, who was out of town on family business, but the Scorpions didn’t skip a beat and showed no weaknesses on the court on Friday night.

Assistant head coach Don Adams took the top spot on the sideline, leading his Scorpions past a Dust Devil team that has won only one game all year.…
