The boys tennis team at Sedona Red Rock High continues to dominate the competition with their most recent victim being Phoenix Christian Academy on Tuesday, April 7, as the Scorpions won, 8-1.

“Our boys should dominate the rest of the way; Phoenix Country Day was the only team to give us a loss,” Sedona head coach Larry Lineberry said.

For only the second time in Sedona Red Rock High history, the Scorpions hosted a track and field meet, and this time, they invited Verde Valley rivals at Camp Verde and Mingus Union High for a little competition in the Sedona Invitational meet March 25.

Hundreds of participants not only from the Verde Valley but from Bourgade Catholic, Scottsdale Christian Academy and Chino Valley High as well, enjoyed the warm weather for an hour or so before cold winds and good ol’ Northern Arizona weather kicked in.…

Small in stature, it might seem like the Sedona Red Rock High baseball players don’t have a chance when they walk onto the diamond prior to a game, any game for that matter.

But when sophomore second baseman Tyler Hollmann, the smallest kid on the field, hit a three-run home run just over the left field fence to make it 6-6 in the bottom of the seventh inning while the sun was going down against Estrella Foothills High on Monday, March 16, it was business as usual.…

Just over a month ago the Sedona Red Rock High tennis team reported to camp looking to set its sights on high achievement this season. With a solid group of returning boys and a young and inexperienced group of girls, those goals are certainly possible.

The Scorpion boys team began its quest for what head coach Larry Lineberry calls, “the best boys team ever” at Sedona when they defeated cross-valley rival Mingus Union High on Friday, March 6, 6-3.

“Mingus is a good team and they will go places this season so for us to beat them and open our season with a victory was huge,” Lineberry said.…

Scorpions lose heartbreakerDespite a strong regular season which saw the Sedona Red Rock High girls basketball team finish 19-7 overall and claim a 3A-West region championship, going 11-1, the No. 9 Scorpions still found themselves traveling to No. 8 Window Rock High in the first round of the 3A state tournament on Friday, Feb. 20. …
