The state’s best spiritlines will be locked in their annual fierce competition Friday, Feb. 21, through Saturday, Feb. 22, in downtown Phoenix.

Sedona Red Rock High School Spiritline members perform at halftime of a football game at the high school in August. The Spiritline will be marching with cheerleaders from West Sedona School and Big Park Community School at the St. Patrick’s Parade on Saturday, March 15.

Meanwhile, one of the state’s up-and-coming spiritlines, under first-year Sedona Red Rock High School Head Coach Katarina Crawley, will be spending that time in Sedona preparing for the St. Patrick’s Parade.

“I’m excited to go, but we didn’t feel like we were there yet,” said junior Zoe Rodriguez, co-captain of the Scorpions Spiritline and the only non-freshman on the team this year. “The talent and timing weren’t there quite yet. A lot of parts weren’t in place. We’ll be there next year.”

Instead, Rodriguez and freshman Annie Koepke will lead local spiritlines — including the cheerleaders from Big Park Community School and West Sedona School — into the Sedona St. Patrick’s Parade on Saturday, March 15. The 44th annual event will begin at
10:30 a.m. at Jordan Historical Park in Uptown.
