After its performance Wednesday, Jan. 22, the Sedona Red Rock High School boys soccer team may find itself on the outside looking in at the state playoffs.

Juniors Andrija Anziel, No. 23, and Riah Durst, No. 13, go on the attack for Sedona Red Rock High School, pursued by Mingus Union High School junior Hector Zapata, No. 12, during the first half of the Scorpions’ 6-0 loss at the Marauders on Jan. 22.
Mingus Union High School junior Miguel Gonzalez had a goal and an assist and senior Cristian Escobar added two assists as the Marauders blanked the Scorpions 6-0 at MUHS.

“We had a big, gaping hole in our midfield,” SRRHS head boys soccer coach Cindy Hauserman said after the loss, which dropped the Scorpions to No. 23 in the Division III power rankings with two games remaining. “We’re not combining through the midfield, we’re not getting to our attacking third, we’re not connecting the dots.”
