The Sedona Red Rock Scorpions [8-7] lost to their rivals, the Mingus Union Marauders [4-12], 54-53, in the first of two meetings between the teams this season, on Monday, Jan. 15, at Mingus Union High School.

The Scorpions lost a tough game in overtime to the Marauders 54-53 dropping their record to 8-7 on the season. Sedona will host the Flagstaff Eagles on Wednesday, Jan. 16, beginning at 5:30 p.m.The Scorpions fought hard, but the Marauders dazed them with the comeback win in overtime. The Scorpions lost a big lead to the Marauders during an exciting third quarter.

“Overall, I thought we did pretty well, we were up and they came back on us,” Scorpions Head Coach Jackie Strickling said. “We were able to rebound and come back against them and made some runs that took us into overtime.”
