Doerner and the rest of his Sedona Majors All-Stars [ages 11 to 12] defeated the Dewey-Humboldt All-Stars 22-0.For the first time since 2005, the Sedona Majors All-Stars  [ages 11 to 12] earned themselves a victory in the District 10 Little League All-Star Tournament on Wednesday, July 7, defeating the Dewey-Humboldt All-Stars, 22-0.

A few proud parents made the trip over to Chino Valley and watched their young lads get a long-awaited victory at the Community Center Park.

It’s hard to decide who had the greater impact against Dewey-Humboldt on Wednesday.

“We expected to win and we played well. It’s so cool to throw a no hitter,” Mikulewicz said in the dugout after the game.

Mikulewicz pitched four innings, allowing no runs on no hits while walking only two and striking out eight batters.

At the plate, Jasper Herrick was outstanding, going 3-4 with four runs scored and seven RBIs including a third inning grand slam that put the game out of reach for good.

“I thought we all did a good job. It feels great to finally win one; we haven’t won one of these games in a long time. It’s been a curse on Sedona,” Herrick said while sitting next to Mikulewicz in the dugout after the 22-0 win.

Garrison Skornik raises his hands, showing how proud he was  after hitting a three-run double in the bottom of the third inning  Wednesday, July 7.In the top of the first inning, Mikulewicz doubled in Randy Rodriguez to make it 1-0, then Herrick recorded his first hit of the day to score Mikulewicz to make it 2-0.

Sedona took a 7-0 lead after two innings of play but in the bottom of the third, the boys wearing maroon and gray scored a whopping 15 runs to put the game out of reach, making it 22-0.

In the third, Sedona recorded seven hits and eight walks while recording 10 RBIs. Sedona had 15 hits as a team on the game.

Dylan Sadler was 2-2 with two walks, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base.

With the victory, Sedona improved to 1-1 in the District 10 Little League All-Star Tournament. Sedona lost its first game to the Prescott South All-Stars on Tuesday, July 6, 10-2.

Sedona is scheduled to play Friday, July 9, at 5 p.m. against the winner of the Camp Verde All-Stars versus Bagdad All-Stars matchup which took place Thursday, July 8. Results were unavailable at press time.
