On Friday, June 22, Diane Bailey, commissioner of the Sedona Little League, announced the rosters and schedules for the 2007 all-star competitions.

All teams will play a double-elimination style tournament, where the winner goes to Phoenix to participate against national competition.

We here at The Sedona Red Rock News would like to congratulate the following boys who were selected to represent their community in Little League baseball all-stars competition.

We hope you play at your very best and we wish you good luck.

All-stars: Ages 13-14

Rob Henry will be the manager, and his roster is as follows:

Blake Barker, Arley Leyva, J.R. Henry, Orlando Montanez, Tyler Hollmann, Andrew Rippy, Kyle Chartier, Ryan Lillie, Bradley Cox, Regan Cavanaugh, Sam Davis, Ari Aranda and Jesus Fimbres.

“I look forward to the tournament, as I believe we can go far and challenge for the championship,” Henry said.

The boys will play their first game Saturday, July 7, at Cottonwood Middle School.

The time and who they will play will be released at a later date, as CMS has only one field and the brackets needed to be redone.

Russell Mieske, Rafeal Ruiz, Mauro Trahin, Cody Slayton, Kyle Thumwood, Andre Villalobos, Gerardo Delgado, Roger Kerzmann, Jose Saucedo, Alexis Levya, Scotty Pantoja and Jack Johnson.

“The competition will be tough, but we have a really good group of young players, and they will be up for the task,” Mieske said.

The host site for these boys will be in Prescott Valley at Mountain Valley Park.

Their first game will be Friday, July 6, at 7:30 p.m. against the Prescott South all-stars.

Their first game was Monday, June 25, against the Chino Valley all-stars.
