William Edward Skelley

William Edward Skelley, 91, of Sedona, died Nov. 24.

He was raised in San Diego, signing with the San Diego Padres in 1937.

Before retiring in Sedona in 1979, he worked in engine manufacturing and later owned his own garage in 1964.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joanna; son Michael; and brothers Mel and Bob.

He is survived by son Thomas Skelley of Sedona; Peggy Barron of San Carlos, Calif.; sister Charlotte Kahn of Vancouver, Wash.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
