Virginia Baxter, a longtime resident of Sedona, died Jan. 30.

Originally from San Diego, she traveled the world with her husband Capt. Richard Baxter, USCG, before settling on Red Rock Roost overlooking the Village of Oak Creek.

She was actively involved with Verde Valley Caregivers, Christ Lutheran Church and past president of the 4Rs, dedicated to preserving the natural character of Sedona.

She is survived by daughters Susan and Carol and their families.
