Sherman Adelbert Loy

Aug. 5, 1926 — May 14, 2011

Sherman Adelbert Loy, of Red Rock, near Sedona, died May 14.

He was born Aug. 5, 1926, to Myron and Frieda Loy in Cornville.

He served in the Army in World War II and in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968.

He is survived by his sister Martha; children Debi McNiff, Kathie Loy-Gouhin, Bill Loy, John Loy and Mary Dean; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Plans are being made for a celebration of his life; details will be announced soon.

yes he comes from the loys of several generations back. i met him on the side of upper red rock crossing with his little old pickup truck. we had quite a chat about the little cabin he grew up in and his family, i was very honored that he shared that conversation with me.
