Robert L. Hoglund, 87, of Marengo, Ill., formerly of Cottonwood, died Jan. 2.

He was born Nov. 23, 1924, in Burlington, Iowa.

He  received three Bronze Battle Stars in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He is survived by wife, Genny; children Linda (Hector) Ortiz, Larry (Karen) Hoglund, and Greg (Judy) Hoglund; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Richard (Mary Ellen) Hoglund.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Lou; and his parents.
