Paula, granddaughter of Sedona Schnebly, her paternal grandmother for whom the town Sedona was named, passed away in her home in Tucson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellsworth and Lucille Schnebly.
A true native daughter of Arizona, she received her teaching degree at age 21 from Arizona State College where she met her husband, John E. Hokanson, of 57 years. They were married, December 22, 1956, at Wayside Chapel and walked across the highway to her parents home for a reception following the ceremony. This was one of the many reasons the Sedona community was so dear to her. A special thanks to the Sedona Historical Society who inspired mother throughout her illness. She was so proud of their work and was grateful to be a part of it.
