Janet “Dude” Skillen Peebles

April 3, 1925 – Feb. 16, 2009

Janet “Dude” Peebles, 83, of Cottonwood, died Feb. 16 at home.

She grew up in Evanston, Ill., where she became an accomplished equestrian. She moved to Sedona in 1975. Her dynamic friendly personality will be missed by her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. William and Jana Hall Skillen, son Jeffery and husband Don McClure Peebles II. She is survived by a son, Don McClure Peebles III, of Cornville, a beloved daughter, Julianne Peebles, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, and grandson, Michael Collier.
