J Neil Smith Jr. Sept. 12, 2009 J Neil Smith Jr., husband to Nelly Smith, died Sept. 12 in Denver, Colo., at age 91. A longtime resident of Sedona and an active community leader, he will be missed. Smith is survived by his daughter Lindley Bell and son Chip Smith. He was a leader of Keep Sedona Beautiful and was actively involved in the State Route 179 redesign. He made life in Sedona better for everyone.
